Just to keep you updated, I approached both Warringah Mall and Chatswood Hoyts, and they asked me to send emails to the appropriate people, which I have done. I hope to receive a reply within the next week, and if they agree to host events I'll post them in the 'upcoming events' section.
Fingers crossed B) -

We missed you too FP, and hope you feel better soon.
Still and all it was a fun morning trooping, and I'm sorry I missed the BBQ. In TK I managed to walk up and down stairs by myself, and only popped the snaps on my leg armour once! That's an achievement all by itself :)
The kids were all in good spirits, and I think I only managed to scare 2 of them ;-P
Dancing with Lord Twinkle-Toes Vader was also a lot of fun, and I'm thinking next time we should try the Quickstep instead of the Tango B)
Thanks to Geoff for helping me armour-up, and to everyone for being there. Kidsflix is such a fun event, and although it's only a short troop, the reaction from kids and parents alike is well worth it.

It's 8 til 10 for the troop I think, and anytime after that for the BBQ. I'm still in for the troop! :) And still not going to the BBQ :(
Noreen sends her apologies, but she won't be attending either part of the days festivities.
Anna K also sends her apologies, and will not be attending. -

Sorry it's taken me a few days to report on this...
We had fairies! We had pirates! Wizards! Christmas Elves! Jedi! Sith! Stormtrooper! Mini-Clone-Trooper! Clowns! Gladiator! We even had Superman!
I was amazed to see so many costumes, and so many people willing to help out. The volunteers were put into 3 groups, and after the initial getting ready (And clowns getting their faces painted) we went through 6 wards each, just talking to people, getting the occasional photo taken, making kids smile and saying Merry Christmas. We had christmas gift bags, balloons, and fruit to give away to patients and parents alike. The staff were just as happy to see us, and got just as many pics as the patients.
I was a Scottish Jedi for the day, and the lightsabre was a big hit for the littlies, as was my Yoda backpack.
I found this event to be a lot of fun, and walked away feeling like the job was well done, and everyone involved was happy.
Sure, getting out to Randwick that early is a pain, but it was so worth it.
Now all I have to do is figure out how to get a day off next Wednesday for Westmead!
