heya

will be making a mold of my boba fett helmet so i can make a few custom mando costumes for myself, they will be either cast in a urethane resin or i am thinking that i may even make them out of fibreglass so they can take a good punishing. just wondering if anyone would be interested in purchasing a blank. they will come with range finder. you will have to put together yourself. not sure on price yet but they will be cheaper than purchasing from overseas.

I would be interested in doing a display helmet. May I sugest a slush cast in one peice, they are strong and less work ? just a sugestion.

cheers for the replies guys, will keep you posted,this is a definate go now. helmet mold will be ready by january depending on my time available, price not final yet, the one on ebay the same is 150 u.s + ship of 45. i will def get them down cheaper than that otherwise you may as well purchase that one and me too for that matter, im comparing different urethanes. the type i usually use has alot of bend and isnt brittle like alot of the resin pieces i have bought from overseas, the helmet i got from the u.s is so brittle i had to reinforce it with fibreglass, which still wont help if i drop it. sorry for the late replies i just havnt got any notifications, might check my profile settings . hmmmm

hey guys, i have finished the mold and have made a first cast from the mando helmet. here are some pics of how it looks, pics are of straight from the mold , with visor cut out and the resin add on bits.
ive descided that the price will be $115 + shipp which will prob be about $15 ish.
im mainly going to just make these for my own use as i dont like the resin that the helmets are made in they are too brittle and mine was broken many times so i have made mine out of a really nice semi flex urethane resin . i have dropped this from waist height and there was no worries.
i will do a run i my friends want one but im not going to sell these commercially.
