OK this is the next event comming up, I will be doing it in conjunction with the Kids Christmas Party so if you can do the joint event come along and have some fun.

I will be parking in the Main Randwick Hospitals car park as usual and then heading to the Kids wards, there is a small cafe that we meet at there if not in the car park. We need to be at the cafe by 8am. There will be goodies bags to get organised and balloons to fiill and tie up.

If you are intending to go to this event please get your name down so we know numbers, if you need a lift from the hospital to the Race course let me know I have a few seats in the Tarago.

OK.
Aileen and I headed out to Sydneys Children Hospital for the troop today, got there about 6.45 and had breakfast. The others started to turn up at around 7.30 - 8am. The usual balloon filling and getting everyone into groups and costumes occoured and also getting the bags ready for the kids. we basically trooped from 10am till 12noon. There were not many kids about today, or at least the areas we visited, this would be a good thing I would sugest. I had my fans go down early but some material tape and wire fixing and I was back on track.
It was good to catch up with others and to see the smiles on the faces of the kids and the staff, these troops are really worth getting involved with.

I did not get photos but if you check out Kids Are Christmas on Face Book, that will be posting photos of the visit. Ill post any addys here for pics when I pick them up.

REMEMBER there are two more hospital visits comming up Westmead on Friday 2nd Dec, and Weds 7th check the events posts for these.

Sorry it's taken me a few days to report on this...

We had fairies! We had pirates! Wizards! Christmas Elves! Jedi! Sith! Stormtrooper! Mini-Clone-Trooper! Clowns! Gladiator! We even had Superman!
I was amazed to see so many costumes, and so many people willing to help out. The volunteers were put into 3 groups, and after the initial getting ready (And clowns getting their faces painted) we went through 6 wards each, just talking to people, getting the occasional photo taken, making kids smile and saying Merry Christmas. We had christmas gift bags, balloons, and fruit to give away to patients and parents alike. The staff were just as happy to see us, and got just as many pics as the patients.
I was a Scottish Jedi for the day, and the lightsabre was a big hit for the littlies, as was my Yoda backpack.
I found this event to be a lot of fun, and walked away feeling like the job was well done, and everyone involved was happy.
Sure, getting out to Randwick that early is a pain, but it was so worth it.

Now all I have to do is figure out how to get a day off next Wednesday for Westmead!
