19-20 November 2011 Penrith Fire Museum, Mulgoa Rd, Penrith, NSW




Just a heads up warning guys and gals. We have been invited to attend a weekend event at penrith. will cover both days expecting around 5000 people. We will ahve a tent/marke set up and they would like all types of costumes from SW, and also if you have any friends that would like to attend in HP or other Sci-fi/characters etc they are welcome to join us.

I will be posting for the Droids and R2 builders as well.

More information soon as I have just got off the phone form the organisers. Looks like a good fun weekend and close for those out west. so mark it down in your calanders and try and come along, I might be looking for some accommodation out there as well as it is a weekend event. Might be a nice little break for the family.

O at this stage I was told that the even will be at a location near Panthers, has to be confirmed.

OK people have just been talking to the contacts for this event, and they are really wanting us to attend in as many costumes as possible. I will be getting onto the R2 builders guys and hopefully we will have some members from there as well.

We decided due to time and location that this year we would just have members walking around in costume and then next year we will sort out a base location and have a display. The R2 guys if they attend will be in a covered area due to the droids and Darlek etc.

So what we need now is for you , if you would like to attend is to call the contactsd and get your name down now, and let them know what costumes you can have thee. We are looking at this stage at anything, Star Wars Star Trek, Harry Potter what ever you like, they just want a good mix to kick this event off.

So if you can make it please call Andrew 0409 596 949 or Katrina on 0409 651 394. Let them know your information so you can get your names down on the entery gate etc. This event looks like it will grow into a really big yearly event and it would be a good eyearly troop we can plan ahead for.

Ok last word on this, I ahve talked to the main people involved in this and we decided that with Novus and the R2 grop we would ask member to participate this year as individuals. From talk on Wed night there will be a couple of people going and an R2, so the organisers would apreciate if you are attending could you please wear your costume, if for a couple of hours.

Next year we will be a little bit more organised with a joint group event and covered club location to operate out of. If you attend have a great day. Dont forget contact numbers if you wish to get your names down at the front gate.

This was a great event guys, despite the heat and thanks to everyone who turned up (both in costume and out). There's a lot of things lacking when it comes to an event like this, honestly I did feel like a freeloader for there was hardly any interaction with our group, we had nothing to setup and nothing to do but walk around.

I would like to setup an open day for members to openly discuse, plan and move forward as a group

I'd have to agree Geoff, it was pretty quiet out there today, though some of the stallholders were pretty cool and the jousting horses were gorgeous. Lucky we made it out before the rain checked in. Will be good to see how it goes next year.
