Hey there people,

I'm making the moving parts for a suit of armour, akin to Alice In Wonderland (The latest Tim Burton movie). Here's a good picture link for you...

Any ideas on making the skirt piece?
The arms are easy, and the armour pieces are being made by someone else... It's just that skirty bit I'm concerned about.

Thanks heaps!

The arrow style part at the top of it? Or the material part? Yes it looks like fun, hmm chat with Nick from Taz maybe he could sculpt a few arrow bits then vac form them and vac form them and then vac form them ? Stick them in the shape , cast and pull? Just a thought! Good luck it does look very sweet.

With Adam on this one make a mold cast and pull easiest and you'll get the best results. The chain maile not sure sure about.

Thanks for the ideas, I'll have to think about casting something.

As for the chainmail on the arms, I'm making that bit myself... Slowly :)

For the middle of the skirt, it looks like leather threaded through large-link chainmail? I think?? Anyone got a better idea on what it is?

I have an idea on this show you tomorrow
but the side pieces, make a few pieces from either clay or styrene, cast them and use either urethane or silicon with that tin powder additive, depends if we want it to "clink" when you walk, or silent. And your right on the front pieces its chain like in necklaces, could probably use those jump rings you have already if you can get larger ones. And if you wanna get really accurate theres little crosses they link to!

Okay then, all good answers and thank you. Here's another question for the greater consciousness....

I can't find large jumprings on ebay for the skirt piece. So I'll have to make my own. I know how to do that, and stainless steel wire is my only real option, unless I want it to rust. Any idea of guages/thicknesses/where to buy it? I haven't had the chance to look around, and thus have no idea where to start.

Again, thank you for the assistance. ;)
