So i bit the bullet, and decided to go with a proffesional look. Instead of Tron Guy, i hit up Robin from the Gold Coast. The guy who makes the awesome borg suits, just ordered a Tron Legacy suit from him. Which will be done for Sydnova = aweeesome ! and free comic book day.

Is anyone else considering doing tron stuff because, it looks like i'll get the body suit and the helmet made, depending on the cost. The boots are easy to get they are just a pair of motorcycle boots which i have about 20 million pairs of.

Sounds great Kat, seems Tron is the flavour of the year, maybe you could start a Tron Sub interest section in here, that would make a few more SicFi interest groups for members. You would need a name ofcourse, seeing there based inside a computer you could call it PC, or System 36.

Carnt waite to see the finished products and Robbin and co are great people.

wow, that much huh. I'm sure it's going to look awesome. I put together a very bad attempt for Brisnova, (pic somewhere) but I really want to get a proper suit of sorts made. Might just stick to the reflective tape, though not the adhesive stuff - that was terrible stuff, wrinkles and tears easily. Spoke to the 'white' tron girl at Brisnova and she used some reflective fabric from a mob who make safety gear, and she sewed this on, looked awesome.

Well, back to the drawing board...

The suits in the movie used EL-Wire which is a thin, bendable tube that lights up. The best part
is that it is low voltage, battery operated. In other words, you can run a whole suit's worth of wire
from a couple of 9 volt batteries. It can be sewed into costumes to make them look really electric.
I have a sample of this wire that I can bring along if anybody wants to check it out. Since getting my
sample they have released several new colours that are also a lot thinner and brighter than what I
have got. I'll be using it in the future on some robot experiments...

and if you watch the special features on teh dvd you can see where they put all the wiring and batteries in to the area behind the disk. Very cool.

yes and I read somewhere that the batteries only last 12 minutes, which would have sucked for filming.
