Well after been hand delivered to me ( Thanks Rhonda and Paul(FP) ) I finaly bit the cookie and decided that I better do some test runs and see how it all gos. Here are the following words of my trials and tribulations or making SW cookies. I have added a few comment that I hope will help new players. Right off the bat is that it is not as easy or quick as it might sound.

Here we go, the package arrives with all the insturctions, great idea of the bat, they include the insructions of how to make the base etc.

I decided right off the mark to make TK and Vader ones only to start with. Please read the instructions fully before you start, also get all your ingrediants out on the bench so that you dont forget to put all the bits in ( I forgot the egg ), anyway we continued on, O I also did not add the vanila, I did not have any. So away we went.

If you read ahead ( I didnot and got caught out ) you will have plates and bowles ready for your stuff. Also what I did not realise is that the finished doe had to be left in the fridge for at least 2 hrs before useing again. Also use a bit of flour when rolling the doe before and after the fridge. The doe will go very hard, but will soon get soft in yur hands.

Now is the time to clean up the mess, I have always found it better to clean as you go.

Haha, looks like Kayla had a great time making them and of course the cleaning up part is always my favourite part (though cake batter is so much better)

We didn't make their recipe to start out with, I'll give that and gingerbread ones a try next me thinks

As a profesional at making these cookies the sugar they use is castor and try going down to the local supamarket and getting lighthouse brand flour it's made specifically for cookies and cakes makes things go a bit faster XD

Looking good so far also if your in a rush just chuck the dough into some cling wrap or those sandwhich bags and put it in the freezer for 30 min or so, just makes it easier work with the dough XD

Ok now for part TWO.

Ok so time has been excelerated and we are now two hrs later and we remove the two bowles, now your supose to roll this out into a nice flat area of 6mm and cut away, as you can see by the pics I did them individualy, the base was a bit brittle and I am not sure why, maybe the lack of egg. Anyway they cut the original outer shap well, and imprint great, just do not get to heavy on the spring or you will imprint right threw the cookie. Again use plenty of flour here, and add a bit each time you put the doe down to cut

http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u103/novusordo_events/General%20Stuff/IMG_6868.jpg

Remember whem putting them on a tray give them plenty of room to expand

http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u103/novusordo_events/General%20Stuff/IMG_6870.jpg

KEEP ANY OFF CUTS OR SPARE BITS OF DOE, YOU CAN ROLL THEM INTO SMALL BALLS AND MAKE MINI DEATH STARS OUT OF THEM.

http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u103/novusordo_events/General%20Stuff/IMG_6871.jpg

http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u103/novusordo_events/General%20Stuff/IMG_6872.jpg

Remember what I said about numbers on a tray this is way to many on one tray, out of the mix youll get about 32

http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u103/novusordo_events/General%20Stuff/IMG_6874.jpg

When cooking them, keep an eye on them around the 10 min mark, they can go from ok to black real quick

Helen found this for me, looks like it would make a more solid base to cut out and easier to work with.

Preperation time 15 min

Cooking time 15 mins

Makes about 40

Ingredients:

250g Butter, softened
1/2 cup icing sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg( Don't forget ) at room temperature
2 1/2 cups plain flour
1/2 cup cornflour

Use electric beater mix, butter, sugar, vanilla untill creamy, add egg, beat till combined.

Sift flour into butter mix, divide in half put on plate and refrigerate for 20 mins.

preheat oven to 160 Deg C. line two backing trays with bakeing paper, cut to about 3 mil thick.

Cut out shapes place on tray, allow expansion pop biscuits into fridge till firm and then bake for 15 min,

after let stand for 5min, and then transfer to another tray, ice up as required.

I will try this one over the weekend and let you know how it gos.

Well I got the cookies made but had dramas with my icing as I ran out of icing sugar and it was waay too runny to pipe so in the end the pens got a workout for these 3, the rest went without

Vader has undergone some creative license and gone purple and Yoda has gone to the Dark Side but they tasted extra yummy :)
