I could be wrong, but I believe that belonged to one of the guys who was running the con. A guy called Mark.

And no, he won't sell it to you.

The Vader winner wasn't drawn until late the Sunday night after everyone left apparently.

I don't remember the Vader winners name, but whoever it was wasn't there when it was drawn.

like most raffles, the winner should be there to collect the prize, if not keep drawing names until you have a winner who could be bothered to be there!

:)

that will learn 'em!

Normally I would agree, but in this case they didn't draw the prize until after the Convention had closed and the public had left. Half of the stall holders had already packed up and left too.

If that's the case... that's... well, dodgy. There's no other way to describe it.

It's true, half and half.
It means that someone who could only make it to the convention on Friday night still has a chance at the raffle drawn on Sunday. There was also a lot going on, on sunday, so there wasn't much time left free to draw a raffle. Especially with the quizinator going.

It's something that should change, and as things start getting bigger and better - move to bigger premisis, get more media attention, draw bigger crowds - I'm sure that it'll be changed to suit. When a convention's that small you can't really expect the general public to turn up two or three days in a row when they've seen it all in one night.

But that itself will change as more crowds mean more income mean more attractions mean more things to do mean more interest in coming back the next day to see what's new.

I'm still trying to make sense of what's being said... was a name drawn and the person wasn't there, but still won? Or was a name drawn, and the person wasn't there, so it kept re-drawing until someone left in the ever-shrinking room won?

from what I undersatnd the draw was going to take place after the con had closed. the winner would be notified via phone/email and it would also be announced on the website. no info has been given to me yet to put on the website.

I'm just waiting for a call back from mark to find out the winners and to sort out a few other things. need to get a few parts sent up for the speederbike as well

Well that sounds better. Merrick's earlier words suggested (to me at least) that perhaps it had kept re-drawing until someone left on the closed convention floor won which, to my mind, would be a great way to cut down the odds for "people in the know".

nope it was going to be one draw and the person notified. Not everyone could be there for the closing soonce it's drawn that's it. If they can't contact the person for whatever reason I think the idea was to redraw but again I need to hear from Mark or Baz to get the word.

until then I don't know the word.

does anyone know the word?

The Vader was won by a 14 year old local kid. Mark is going to email me through the manes of the winners for all the comps to go onto the website and I'm going to see about giving hte website a reboot in the coming weeks from the one the last person designed.

anywho I need to go sort out shipping for a display cabinet

:)

Cheers

Nick
