There are these cheapo ones

http://www.easterncoastcostume.com/Pages/g...oots/boot01.htm
Then there is caboots
http://www.caboots.com/product/1SCSIMPVAD/...ADER_BOOTS.html
Then things like Germany and Russian Army Boots which seem an interesting choice:
Anyone got any insight?
Also I am going to get a LA/FenixProps 1 Pc leather Suit and Robes/Capes as they appear easily the best but any Vaders got opinions? I have already been in contact with him and will wait until tax return time before buying - being able to write off uni degrees is a good thing for ones costuming :)
What do you Vaders use? Tell me before I force choke you

You will regret it.
After 1-2 hours your feet will hate you and you'll suffer long term...
Get leather ones made up - motorcowboy or a local bootmaker.
Research at sithtrainingtemple or sld....the suits are good, but 2 piece is WAYYYYYY better than one.

My thoughts exactly on the cheapo eastcoast/911 vinyl shoes. People say they are OK but I want a quality costume - at least as best i can for starters for a reasonable amount of cash. It just seems logical that vader would have good shoes
I have been reading SLD but everyone has different opinions which makes weeding out info hard. For example some people say CP suits some people say LA/FP suits. But I must say FP gets the best props.
As far as shoes i didn't want to spend 500 on shoes if it can be helped.
So why the 2 piece over the 1 piece leader suit for LA/FP? Whats the skinny there?
What Vader did you do yourself?

In regards to CP and LA suits - they used to be one and the same. I am lead to believe that LA is the better of the two, purely from customer-relations perspective!
Good Luck!
P.S. For Vadering, 'reasonable cash' doesn't exist...you dont want to spend too much? Do a Jedi, Imp Officer or TK. Vader is on par with Fett as the hardest and most expensive to get right!

I have all the full on 3 piece leather suit, short gloves, thin cod etc and real wool capes.
Luckily I got in just before the dollar fell. Cost me millions from CP and shipping was a fortune as well.
But since the AUS $$ is so crap now it would cost many many many thousands just for the CP soft Stuff alone.
LA and CP are both good. CP did amazing work on my body suit. 100% perfect.
Vadering is a long term project. Even spending up big is no substitute for taking it slow and learning lots.
On a happy note..... there are so may people getting vaders together it is easy to get good money on ebay for all of your mistakes and upgraded cast offs.
Enjoy the ride!

The fat middle aged OT Vader with the gut where the twosie would prob be better, or the more streamlined faster better stronger ROTS Vader?
I have both twosie and onesie and prefer the onesie plus it doesnt puff out when you move about a bit.
As for boots motorcowboy might look the dogs bollocks but to justify 3-400 on a pair of boots? You have to justify that one for yourself, Ive been wearing 911's with the wool insert you buy from woolies and I can wear them all day with no problems and no smellies either then again my footsies dont get rank either.
Vadering is fun and bloody expensive, my Vader only has the shins and belt from its original form now. which even then they are about to be replaced as well.....

I have been in contact with LA/FP already so have that sussed. Expedited postage costs 250 but he does ship for cheaper for normal postage...I dont mind waiting a few weeks in transit in so long as it is insured.
US/AUS dollar has improved the last week or so sitting at 72.65 (but hit 73 today) so lets hope that is a trend as it beats the 66.00 2 weeks ago.
I have done all the reading really and have it all covered i think now. All except the helmet. NFI what i am going to do there but i aint gonna mod my rubies at all...that will remain a gag helmet for parties :Jedi:
I haven't made any mistakes per se except changing direction early on from ROTS to ESB and on selling gloves at cost. Not terribly happy with the cod I have in my possession now but will likely use the one i get from LA if I get his package.
I have already sourced a lot of it, paid for some and am awaiting delivery, and haven't gone the cheap alternatives that is for sure.
i am most excited to get my officer riding boots :P

I like the look of the super high gloss thicker fibreglass ones.
The one I am looking at now is this one...any thoughts?
