I sorry if I have been absent from recent events, but I have been taking care of my grandmother in the hospital. I know that might not be of interest, but with everything going on in life I am finding it hard to plan for things a few weeks to a month in advance.

There is one major event I would like to attend in the near future called Star Wars Celebration, obviously not this years event but maybe next year or 2014's. Why I am posting this is to see if anyone else would be interested in and wanting to attending. For those who have been to this event before would know it is the biggest Star Wars fan group convention in the world and is not held annually or in the same location twice.

It is the type of event that will need a lot of co-ordination, organisation and a lot of luck. Because it might be a once in life time expirence, I'll be looking at aquiring VIP tickets, which does add to the expense but is worth it seen as how an average of 30,000 people attended in 2010.

If you are interested please post, forum mail, or facebook mail by the end of May and we'll try to organise something.

Powerhouse has contacted me regarding a new Narnia exhibit. That's right, they're shipping the wardrobe with the lion and the witch in it to Sydney!!

And they're looking for costume volunteers.

I know we're a diverse bunch of people, with a wide ranging costume base, so if anyone has armour or medieval gear they feel like dusting off for a while, get into the Powerhouse website and apply online.

Also, if you have links to medieval re-enactors, armoured knights, steampunk fairies or anyone else who might fit into the Narnia universe, please pass the word along.

the alice pack is $140 as it is basically brand new still dam cheap

one with one broken zipper still waterproof is $40
I use one of these for building site tools in the mud they are tough as hell i love them

I would like to see if possible a meeting on the weekend of 11th 12th, as a few of us will be getting together that weekend. maybe Saturday night for dinner or Sunday after the event. Just need to get some ideas up and running.

1) I will contact people and ask if they are interested in looking after sections of the group.
2) Some new rules added a) all members must attend at least one event during the year. probation period for new members, hopefully some sort of buddy system for them. c) Sort out web site and forum and decide in which direction to go in, There is no rush for this as both the site and our addy have 12 months payed up on them. d) troops to be called events so that all members are covered and included.

3) I am open to anybody emailing me and putting in sugestions.

I am hopeing that the group will move forward this year and have some fun.

Once nominations are in and officialy accepted I will list the names of the people up for the vote and we will vote from the 16th Jan to the 23rd Jan.

Once the OIC has be elected, then he can form his helpers around him and select people in the states that need it to help as well.


During this time any events can run as usual, and I woudl ask that you post events up in the up-comming section of the forum.

I was at the movies a few days ago and noticed a gigantic poster... Star Wars to be released in 3D, as of February 3rd. Did anyone else know about this, or am I just completely in the dark?

My next question is, has anyone been approached to troop for the cinemas? I was planning to head down to my local cinema in the next few days and ask if they'd like costumers for the first weekend of the release, would anyone like to be involved should they go for it?

I have the choice of a bunch of cinemas in the area. There are 2 in Chatswood, one in Warringah Mall... And one in Warriewood, but I think that's a little too far for most people to travel (Even though I'd love to troop there, they owner was a friend of my Gran once upon a time). My first choice is Warringah, but I will try Chatswood also, just to see what sort of reaction I get.

I'll keep you posted on my progress. Any helpful hints or further interest would be appreciated.

I wouid also like to say thanks to all who over the years supported both Helen and I and the kids, not only in the club area but also outside of it.

I am hopeing that 2012 will be a new faze for Novus and some new and interesting events and things on the forum will occour.
