I would like to see if possible a meeting on the weekend of 11th 12th, as a few of us will be getting together that weekend. maybe Saturday night for dinner or Sunday after the event. Just need to get some ideas up and running.

1) I will contact people and ask if they are interested in looking after sections of the group.
2) Some new rules added a) all members must attend at least one event during the year. probation period for new members, hopefully some sort of buddy system for them. c) Sort out web site and forum and decide in which direction to go in, There is no rush for this as both the site and our addy have 12 months payed up on them. d) troops to be called events so that all members are covered and included.

3) I am open to anybody emailing me and putting in sugestions.

I am hopeing that the group will move forward this year and have some fun.

Once nominations are in and officialy accepted I will list the names of the people up for the vote and we will vote from the 16th Jan to the 23rd Jan.

Once the OIC has be elected, then he can form his helpers around him and select people in the states that need it to help as well.


During this time any events can run as usual, and I woudl ask that you post events up in the up-comming section of the forum.

I would like to at this stage wish everybody a happy and safe New Year in 2012 and hope to see you at an event soon.

I was at the movies a few days ago and noticed a gigantic poster... Star Wars to be released in 3D, as of February 3rd. Did anyone else know about this, or am I just completely in the dark?

My next question is, has anyone been approached to troop for the cinemas? I was planning to head down to my local cinema in the next few days and ask if they'd like costumers for the first weekend of the release, would anyone like to be involved should they go for it?

I have the choice of a bunch of cinemas in the area. There are 2 in Chatswood, one in Warringah Mall... And one in Warriewood, but I think that's a little too far for most people to travel (Even though I'd love to troop there, they owner was a friend of my Gran once upon a time). My first choice is Warringah, but I will try Chatswood also, just to see what sort of reaction I get.

I'll keep you posted on my progress. Any helpful hints or further interest would be appreciated.

I wouid also like to say thanks to all who over the years supported both Helen and I and the kids, not only in the club area but also outside of it.

I am hopeing that 2012 will be a new faze for Novus and some new and interesting events and things on the forum will occour.

1) I have a few projects that wil need to be carried over to next year that I was hopeing to do this year but things just went all ove rthe place with my home life that time was just not there. I would like to get the run to Coober Pedy up and going this year for those that are still interested and wold be looking at October 2012 to do it. I have looked at it and you would need to at least have 7 days to do it. Two to get out there with an overnight at Broken Hill going out and back. So that is 4 days travelling. I would think you would need at least 2 if not 3 days there to have a good look around, one day for photos , filming etc and one day for sight seeing. Maybe do the sight seeing first to check the place out and decide where you would like pics etc. Transport could be a mini bus and cars, or just individual cars. I will check into accommodation and get prices. More information soon.


2)I have for a bit been trying to get people interested in doing a short film. I will start a sub forum in the general section and then maybe a small web site to push this in 2012. I would like people to get involved in all aspects of the project, so script, props, story lines, been in the film, helping shoot it etc etc. So when it gos up get involved, it should be fun.

3) In regards to the club I think there are a few thigs people really need to think about. Do you really want to be a member of this group. I cannot see the point of people been in here who do not support the forum, do not support the troops, and in general do not support the group. We have always welcomes cross membership, and different costumes be SW or not, keeping in mind that the primary directive is membership is SW costumes based. I ahve when possible always tryed to get other groups to events etc etc.

So with that in mind and with the elections comming up I put forward the following ideas for discussion.

a) Membership wil require at least one troop per year with the group ( unless a good reason is given )
Starting in Jan 2012 any member with out good reason who has not trooped with the group in the last 2 years will return to recuite status.
c) A return to a strong Command who are active with in the group, and recognised state Command possitions.
d) The forum/web site is to be updated and cleaned out
e) Members to put forward troops and organise them with help from command staff.

I would much rather see a hand full of dedicated members than a load of free loaders or fence sitters gathering information. The last weekend really was back to the Old Novus and I think enough people would like to see that back, I know I would.

There are 2 interchangeable magazines and a moving trigger.
This one is possibly the last E-11 I will make because frankly Ive had enough of them........However, I may make more in the future...and am toying with the idea of electronics but at the moment I have many more projects to be getting on with and the E-11 rewards are just not worth the time and effort that goes into them.
